Up, up and Away

Waking the kids at 2am to get ready to go to the airport is not ideal but its unfortunate that we have such early flights out of Muscat in order to meet ongoing international flights, so wake them I did! They were excited so it wasn't too much trouble to get us going. 

Once at the airport we sat down for a coffee and the kids explored their goodies in their backpacks. 

Each of them has a squishy little robot which they have named and they will take him to all the awesome places we are going. 

The trip was LLOOOOOOOOOOOOONG. It is only 1 hour to Doha but we had a two hour wait which turned Into four hours and oh boy Eyad was not happy. Eventually he feel asleep while the others got busy on the iPads. Finally we on board our 12 hour flight to New York and off we went. 

Eyad was hard work and Ali did an amazing job keeping him happy ... Well most of the time. 

We touched down a little late due to an airline crash at La Guardia airport, gulp, really not what you want to hear. 

Sharon was there to meet us and ride with us back to her apartment. A little catching up and some dinner and then it was ti e to sleep.

We collapsed into bed exhausted and we all slept soundly until 6am.
