Museum Intrepid

We have been blessed with a rather cool and overcast today which made the walk down to the Intrepid museum very nice. Except that Eyad runs off and the New Yorker cyclists do not like anyone or anything getting in their way!

The Intrepid was decommissioned in 1974 and it is an amazing museum. I love that excrew members are part of the staff here and they have so much to share with you.

The flight deck has planes and helicopters on board and you can walk through the top of the aircraft carrier through the comm room and captains quarters.

Aunty Sharon took Sami and Lulu off and Laith went with Ali as Eyad was having major meltdowns so I just went off with him and got a snack and walked around.

There was a huge Lego version of the Intrepid made from over 250,000 pieces, the detail on it was mind blowing.

Outside on the pier was a Space Exhibition which was so much fun for the kids.

Then Aunty Sharon took the kids on the Growler submarine. Lulu was disgusted that when the sub was at sea over 90 days only the 2 chefs and the doctor were allowed a shower in that time! She went on to say that the toilets were so small she was not sure how they would have fit their bottoms on their, lol.

Overall we had a great day.

Finally we headed back to the apartment as Ali and were heading out to a hotel for the night courtesy of my sister and Silvio for our birthdays last month. It works well as it is also our wedding anniversary today. So here I sit in Tribecca, sans kids feeling pretty awesome! Aunty Sharon is looking after the kids and she has Laith on nappy changing duty which should be interesting.

I just LOVE New York!

Thanks for stopping by ...
