Hi there, well I hang my head in shame for the neglect of my poor wee blog. Life sometimes just gets the better of me and I feel too overwhelmed to blog.
Things are calming down a bit now and I feel like the sun has poked her shiny head through the clouds once again.
The biggest news of course is that we are expecting bubba #4 late October, Yay! Lujayne insists if it is not a girl it can stay in there! Hmmmm… that will be an interesting bridge to cross.
School is winding down for another year with only a month to go until all three are at home for the summer. We are planning a three week family holiday to France which much to the kids delight will include Euro Disney.
The summer is here and man it is hot hot hot already. Of course being pregnant in 43 degree avg temps is not going to be the most fun so the ac’s will be going full blast. By next month we will hit the late 40’s and on the days when it is 50 I refuse to go out ;-)
I have done very little sewing over the past 4 months. I was feeling quite icky for my first trimester but thank God I am starting to feel human again. I tell you being pregnant at 40 is much harder than it was when I was 33! I am just finishing a birthday gift that was due back in March for my darling friend Laila’s big 3 0! Laila by the way has shown her true friendship once again and she is also having another bub so at least I will have another preggo mum to whinge with and our bubs will have a mini playgroup! Ok so she didn’t get pregnant just for me but still she gets a gold star in my book! Poor sweet thing is sooooooo terribly ill with morning sickness and I really hope she turns a corner soon.
(here is Laila and my mum back in Feb. Mum was helping Laila with her new knitting project. Look at the concentration on he face … love it!)
I have Ali’s quilt to finish for his birthday in three weeks time (truth be told I actually started cutting for his last birthday … hmmm not good Clo!).
I have a bundle of maternity clothes I would like to make especially for our holiday and then there is the incredibly long list I have of kids clothes waiting to be attacked. Needless to say I have plenty to keep me busy.
Sami had a small op in hospital a couple of months back, it was day surgery and my oh my he is a tough little solider. Not a whimper out of him, my little champ! Ok I tell a lie he did complain when we had to turn off the Handy Manny DVD so they could take him up to surgery LOL.
Almost three years ago we had a terrible storm / flood here called Gonu. He was nice enough to detach our kitchen extension which has been temporarily filled with foam until recently when “the boss” decided it was time to get the kitchen done. Long story short we have had to move our kitchen into our hallway and downstairs laundry for the next couple of months. The jackhammers have been constant but TG they have now started some construction but there is way more too come … ah well all for a good cause.
About a month back Ali and went to the Tom Jones concert. I really enjoyed it. With only about 2500 people it was an intimate affair (see a big plus for living in sleepy ol Muscat LOL). He is 70 on the 7th June (great birthday hey!) and man can he still hold his own. Well done Tom on a great show. And in case you are wondering, no I did not throw my knickers on stage but many did :-0 .
I hope that pretty much brings you up to date on the Al Abri news. I have just placed some pictures of the kids over the past few months through this post so it is not so boring LOL.
Sorry for the long post. I will try and keep things a little more regular now. I have decided to delete my Facebook account for privacy and time related reasons so if I drop off your friends list please don’t take it personally!
Love to you all and thanks for checking in …
